Volunteers
Volunteers are the heart of City Harvest. They help with deliveries and office work, collect surplus food, line up new food donors, organize food drives, and much more.

Board of Directors
A select group of committed professionals sits on the Board of Directors. They set policy for the organization and work closely with the staff.
Food Council
The City Harvest Food Council is made up of New York City food professionals, including four-star chefs and food executives from the city’s finest restaurants and businesses. These are the people who create some of the best food in the entire world, and they’ve dedicated themselves to City Harvest’s mission.
The Food Council works to increase the quality and quantity of food donations, enhance City Harvest’s image among donors, and help City Harvest reach its fundraising goals.
Generation Harvest
Generation Harvest is City Harvest's junior philanthropy group. Its members, young professionals from a wide range of fields, pool their resources and talents to help fight hunger in New York City. Whether volunteering at Greenmarket food rescues, distributing fresh produce at Mobile Markets, or organizing popular fundraising events, Generation Harvest is committed to supporting and raising awareness for City Harvest.
Food Donors
All of the food that City Harvest distributes is donated food. Some 350 regular donors give food at least once a week, and many donate on a daily basis. Additionally, over 1700 institutions pitch in with food drives and call-in donations.
These generous donors gave our city’s hungry men, women, and children more than 25 million pounds of food last year. Find out how you can join the City Harvest family of food donors and help New Yorkers in need.
Financial Donors
It takes money to keep City Harvest trucks on the road, distributing donated food to the hungry. Many generous people donate funds to City Harvest each year. Their kindness of spirit has allowed our organization to thrive, helping more and more people in need each year.
